Artworks began as an experiment at the onset of the pandemic. When I made the decision to close LARMAGAZINE amid the uncertainty generated by COVID, I embarked on a project called "Los Artistas de la Casa" (The Artists of the House). It consisted of an exhibition catalog showcasing children's drawings, which I digitally integrated into museum settings using Photoshop. Victoria Salinas, an interior designer, sent me her daughters' drawings and suggested creating a catalog. This time, we featured pieces by artists digitally inserted into residential spaces designed by renowned firms, and it was very successful. The interesting aspect of this project is that we collaborated with artists who may not have the infrastructure to store or have large-format pieces readily available. For example, photographers who don't print their pieces until a sale is made. With this catalog, they could present smaller pieces or sketches in the ideal format, and upon receiving an advance, the pieces were produced. This benefited collectors who could acquire incredible pieces by emerging artists, and, in turn, the artists could see their ideas materialize, eventually becoming highlights in their portfolios. Later, in 2021, everything began to pick up again, but our schedules no longer aligned. Additionally, in early 2022, I moved back to Mexico City after 10 years of living in Monterrey. Thus, the project came to a close, although we continue to collaborate on certain clients. This marks the beginning of a new phase that combines all the projects I've undertaken so far, which I present as Catalina Restrepo Art Office.
